Are you counting down the days?  School begins next Wednesday, August 11, 2010.  The teachers and staff have been working very hard these past few weeks getting ready for all of our students.

The summer isn’t over yet, so enjoy the days to come and we’ll see our CCS families next week. ”Celebrate summer - sun drenched days and starlit nights….” - Gooseberry Patch.

 Remember: The CIA is coming to CCS!

Happy Birthday America!  What a celebration of our 234th birthday!  If you happened to be in Fairfield Glade July 4th, you would have seen our intermediate students deliver the Preamble of the Constitution to a record crowd!  They did an awesome job and judging by the compliments, our students showed what our school is all about…Excellence!

The days are flying by and before you know it, school will be back in session.  I hope our CCS families are enjoying the summer and will be ready for our Orientation Day, August 11, 2010.  Things are going along smoothly as the staff and teachers are working very hard to make this school year the best ever! 

The building is open all summer and we have one more mini camp coming up.  “Reflecting His Light” art class lead by Mrs. Debra Markham will begin the week of July 26, 2010.  There is room for more campers so be sure to sign up.  

Remember:  THE CIA IS COMING TO CCS!

CIA????  This means Classical Education In Action!  Our school will start off the year with this theme.  Everyone needs to know what makes Crossville Christian School so unique.  So get ready for a year of clues, discoveries and just plain fun!

We have so much to share with our school community and the next thing I would like our parents to do is to read, RECOVERING THE LOST TOOLS OF LEARNING, by Douglas Wilson.  I believe you will find this book refreshing as well as informative.  Hopefully by reading this book, it will give you a better understanding as to why classical education gives your child an edge over a typical student in the United States.  It will also give you a better understanding of what classical education is all about.  As  the year progresses, I will share with you more about our school and the vision I believe God has for Crossville Christian.

We have one more summer camp coming up. Reflecting His Love art class still has room for more campers.  Check out the link for further information. 

CELEBRATION!!!!

CCS took the People’s Choice Award at the Master Gardeners Flowers and Garden show on April 23-25.  This is our second major community award!  You can see a photo of this award winning display in the June 22 edition of the Crossville Chronicle.  A special thanks to our very own Anita Smith for creating such a beautiful arrangement.
