Our preschool classroom is buzzing with activity!! We are learning all about obedience by following directions, talking about classroom and playground rules and how those rules keep us safe and learning our different pledges. One of our favorite morning activities is watching the bigger kids raise the flag right outside our classroom each day. It helps us remember what the pledge of allegiance is all about.
In language arts we learned about the Letter A. When we arrived in our classroom on Monday morning, Ms. Aprel had pictures posted around our classroom that featured things that begin with the letter A. There was a not-so-scary alligator, a silly looking anteater, a big acorn and so much more! We practiced writing the letter A in salt trays and pasting construction paper pieces over dotted lines that formed the letter A.
In our bible lesson this week we talked about Jesus being our friend. We learned that we are very lucky to have Jesus as our very best friend and that he is always there whenever we need to talk to him. Each bible lesson starts with us singing “Jesus Loves Me”. Ms. Aprel is teaching us the hand motions that go along with this wonderful song! For math we made apple trees out of construction paper and counted the number of red, yellow and green apples found on the tree. We practiced color recognition by finger-painting and pasting colored cereal pieces to different apples. We also experienced our first Spanish class on Monday with Mrs. Andrews where she started teaching us colors.
Next week we move along the alphabet to the Letter B and talk about how Jesus always understands our feelings!
God Bless,
Ms. Aprel
